Synonyms, Antonyms, and Homophones!

We have covered synonyms, antonyms and homophones.  Here are  a few books that I used this week to review.  The children love this series!


I had the kids make a flip book using the three categories.  On the front of the flip book, they wrote the words, synonym, antonym and homophone and their definitions.  On the inside, they wrote a sentence using a pair of words, with an illustration.

  1. Cute idea! Did you teach each skill a week? How long do you spend teaching Determining word meanings?

  2. I have been working on each skill for many weeks. I taught homophones for four weeks with our spelling program and got into word meanings. I spent a week each on synonyms and antonyms.
