iSymbols (US)

I was emptying out my camera and realized that I never posted a project that my students completed at the end of school.  We researched US symbols and landmarks and created ipads.  The kids loved making these and they came out awesome!!!  I made a pocket on the back for the facts.

I did not create these sheets and can't find where I got them from.  It was a fre download from some great teacher.  If it is yours, please let me know so I can give you credit.

I bought these cards from Really Good Stuff but they no longer are available from them.  I did find them on Edupress.  There are 30 cards with facts and comprehension questions.  I ordered 2 sets for my class.  They were perfect for my fourth graders.

Many of the projects are oldies but goodies so I am posting them again.

Help!!! Where did I put that Common Core Resource???

I have spent many days getting ready for Back to School.  I have been busy cleaning out closets, cabinets, bins, etc.  I have weeded out so much.  My room is coming along nicely.  Pictures to come soon!!!

My biggest project has been my teaching files.

Last year was a Common Core Nightmare!!!! We adopted all new curriculum and dropped all programs and I was pulling resources from everywhere.  After  year one, I need to develop a way to keep my materials easy to access, find and refile.  I am going to use this idea from secondgradeparadise.blogspot.com.  and organize my files by the standards.  I am also going to record  the units, trade books, games, etc. that might be used to teach and reinforce the standard on the folder.

Here is another idea for storing "I can" Standard Cards from yearn4learning.blogspot.com. that I will use for my cards.

I created bins in my storage closet for games, trade books, task cards and special materials.  I hate finding materials after you have taught a skill!!!!

Here are the bins that I have so far:
*synonyms, antonyms and homophones
*vocabulary, prefixes, suffixes
*grammar and punctuation
*spelling
*number sense
*multiplication and division
*fractions and decimals
*measurement
