Preposition Power!

Are you trying to get your children to learn their parts of speech?  Do they need to vary their sentence structure and elaborate them?  Here is the mini-lesson for you!!!!!  (Sorry...we have been working on persuasion pieces lately)

Here are some great trade books to introduce or review prepositions:

Under, Over, by the Clover: What Is a Preposition? (Words Are Categorical)Product Details
Behind the Mask: A Book about Prepositions (World of Language)If You Were a Preposition (Word Fun)

I did the lesson below last year and love it!!!!  A Preposition Ghost Hunt.  It is from Lesson Plans SOS.  There are two sheets she has created.  She has another variation with eggs.  The children hide ghosts around the classroom with a little showing...I used little cutout ghosts.  After, they have to find seven ghosts and write sentences using as variety of prepositions.  We talked about placement of phrases and varying their sentence beginnings.  It was a lot of fun!!!!

My personal Favorite..."The ghost is stuck in Uranus."
