State Floats

Looking for a fun way to culminate your Social Studies Unit on the States?  Have the children create state year I plan on combining this project with our Electricity Unit and have them light up.  The kids can parade them around the school.  We made these the last week of school and just shared with the class next door.  The kids had a blast with this project.

  6. What a fantastic project! We do a large project with each region. This would fit right in as one of our projects!

  7. I love this idea! Do you have any direction on how to do this?

    1. Hi Monica, We did this project the last few weeks of school. I put out the materials and let the kids go wild. I did have a basic state fact sheet that the kids could fill in and cut out. (state flower, tree, etc.) I had one student who wanted to make hers light up but we did not have enough time. I hope you try it!!
